Joyce & I have been married for 41 years this June and we have two wonderful daughters and two grandsons, all live in the Houston/ Pasadena area. (Good thing!)
We joined GWRRA and Chapter Z in January 2003, after purchasing our first Wing. It was a beautiful pearl white 2000SE that we bought used and after riding almost a year on it, we had it triked and then put an additional 24,000 miles on it. In January 2007, we traded in the 2000 and bought a new 2006 dark red Wing that was triked when we bought it with only 8 miles on it. We started over, adding safety chrome, etc. Now it is just about right.
Last year (2007) we were asked to be Assistant Chapter Directors and we gladly accepted it, along with other roles. For this year we were selected to represent Chapter Z as the Chapter Couple of the Year (2008). It has been a lot of fun and a real honor to proudly tell people about our second family, the Z family. The duties are few and the rewards are many, including meeting lots of other chapter couples and participating in the couple baskets, as well as strutting your stuff with your Couple of the Year patch right on the back of your vest. It puts you in great company. You may even get a free meal or two.
We encourage other couples in Chapter Z to let Everett & Fay know you are interested in representing our family. A new couple will be selected each year and the next time could be your time. As in anything else, you get back what you give and we have gotten back more than our share.
